In the fall 2024, I was honored to partner with the ACLU of North Carolina by hosting a virtual screening of the short documentary North Carolina's Abortion Story. Following the screening, I was inspired to create artwork that would be donated to the staff at a Planned Parenthood South Atlantic health center. As a part of the process, I invited women from The Laundry Line community to share messages of solidarity, support, love, and appreciation for abortion providers and their stories became the first layer of the painting.
Jessica F. Simmons, Cardinal & Pine’s multimedia reporter dedicated to community stories wrote a short article about this collaboration on March 4, 2025 - Artist supports local abortion providers with painting donation.
